In this book the author talks extensively about building crankbaits, jerkbaits, surface lures, spoons, inline spinners and jigs. This book contains a lot of valuable information and the author has some very good ideas that he shares with the readers.

The author is a very resourceful man but I feel he doesn't always supply enough details to be able to build the lures exactly the way they are supposed to be built. Nevertheless, this book is a source for inspiration for the more experienced lurebuilder. Most lures have been sketched on a piece of paper with squares on it so you know the basic measurements. The author explains every lure's action in a short text.

Judging by the pictures that have been included in this book in a centrefold, Mr Mohney doesn't care much about nice finishes and tough coatings. But make no mistake about these lures. Even though they may look "less nice", it says nothing about the catching abilities of the lures that Mr Mohney designed. Together with a small number of lurebuilders, we have built some of the lures that are explained in this book and some models have proven themselves very well for pike.

Some of the through-wire constructions that Mr Mohney uses are too complicated and too time-consuming to use. I would advise to replace these by a differently shaped through-wire frame of by using screw-eyes.

We strongly recommend you to read this book. It contains a lot of valuable information.
