How to shape the lure
- Use a chisel to cut out a piece of 5" long from the broom handle
- Round off the head on one end, and slightly narrow the tail to a diameter of about 1cm
- Remove the knobs on either end
- Saw this blank in two halves
a. Front part: 4cm
b. Tail part: 8.5cm
- Add the screw-eyes as shown in the sketches
- Use the 1.5mm diameter drill bit to drill a hole through the center of the head
- Use the 3mm diameter drill bit to drill a 0.5cm deep hole in the flat side of the front part to hide the wrappings from the leader that will be inserted in a short while
- Bend an eye on one end of the piece of stainless steel wire and add three wrappings below the eye
- Stick the shaft in the front part with the end that hasn't got an eye to it, through the flat side. Smear some 2-ton epoxy glue on the wrappings before inserting them in the pre-drilled hole of 0.5cm deep
- Slightly round off the edges of both sides of the saw cut
- After having painted this lure, add the hollow bead and then the buzzer blade onto the shaft and form an eye with three wrappings
- Connect the head part to the tail part by bending open the screw-eye that is inserted in the flat side of the tail part and using pliers to close it up again.
